From Monday 12th until Saturday 17th March 2012 there will be a festival celebrating the music of Offenbach in and around Serre-Chevalier. Under the direction of Jean-Christophe Keck, the Hautes-Alpes Chamber Orchestra and pianist Yoshiko Moriai will perform recitals of Offenbach’s music and his operetta ‘La Belle Hélène’.

Montgenevre is organising an international jazz festival 26th to 31st July 2011
We are expecting our first guests of the ski season for the first weekend in December when Montgenèvre opens. Before that we’ve got a group of family and friends coming to celebrate a 30th birthday…
The house is looking great with a bit of repainting and decorating. Wood is stacked by the stove for cosy winter evenings.
We look forward to greeting all our guests; we still have room for more in January and late March.
For cycling enthusiasts, our village will be an exciting place to see the the Tour 2011 from as it will be passing through Briançon twice, once over the Col de Montgenèvre on its way to Pinerolles in Italy (Stage 17 on Wednesday, 20 July) and then back again via Col Agnelle to finish at the top of the Col de Galibier (Stage 18 on Thursday, 21 July)! On the following day, the Tour will then go from Modane to Alpe d’Huez via the Col de Galibier in the other direction.

The season is off to a good start! It has snowed 50cm in Montgenèvre and the ski area opens on 5th December for la San Ambrogio, an Italian bank holiday!! Have a look at Montgenèvre’s website as they have a webcam focused on the bottom runs…
Great news! We now have a masseuse living in les Alberts! She comes to our house from across the playground with her table and oils and offers massages to all our guests! What a fantastic way to relax after a hard day’s skiing…
